Some
facts about the house
The outside
front of the house does not match the inside of the house,
the set. The outdoor shots were taken in Los Angeles'
district of Brentwood,
in the Pacific Palisades to be more specific. The living-room as well
as the terrace go together with the set. It will remain as a secret,
though, to where the second exit in the kitchen was meant to lead.
In addition the hallway leading to the four rooms of the Golden
Girls cannot
be made out from an exterior view. Obviously both bathrooms do not
exist. Time in time the view from the kitchen window has changed
on the quiet.
This could be because when the fifth season ended the facade of the
genuine house had been build up at Disney's MGM Studios in Orlando,
Florida.
The crew used this copy for outdoor shots as well. The facade was built
in Residential Street.
Disney-MGM Studios needed space for the new
Lights! Motors! Action! Stunt Show starting in Autumn 2003. Therefore,
Residential Street was torn down in early 2003.
The outdoor shots for The Golden Palace were taken in front of "The
Carlysle" hotel in Miami. "The Carlysle" was also used for the exterior
in the movie "The Birdcage" with Robin
Williams.
