White, Betty: Here We Go Again (My Life in Television) "America's queen of television
shares her fascinating life story!
Here is Betty White -- a woman who has been on television
forever! is generally how Betty White is introduced. And
quite accurately, too, since she first appeared in 1949 when
both she and television were rank beginners. Since then, she
has had one of the most amazing careers in TV, winning five
Emmy awards, creating such unforgettable characters as Sue
Ann Nivens and Rose Nylund, and appearing in a host of television
classics from 1952's Life with Elizabeth to The Mary
Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls. Here We
Go Again gives an overview of television's golden era,
packed full of wonderful anecdotes about the many famous personalities
with whom Betty has worked. It also gives a fascinating behind-the-scenes
look at television over five decades, from her first show,
Hollywood on Television which ran live five and a half hours
a day six days a week (33 hours per week!), to Betty's current
television work. In addition, she talks about her personal
life -- how her hectic career caused strain in her relationships
and how she finally found happiness with her third husband,
the late talk show host Allen Ludden.
As warm and funny as its author, Here We Go Again will thrill her
many fans and delight all of those who are interested in the history of
America's most popular form of entertainment.
Five-time Emmy-winner Betty White enchants readers with her life story--and
provides a behind-the-scenes look at television, from the early days to
the present, offering often hilarious anecdotes about such stars as Jack
Paar, Johnny Carson, Allen Ludden, Merv Griffin, Cher, Bea Arthur, and
Raymond Burr."

Cotter, Bill: The Wonderful World of Disney Television (A
Complete History)
"Accompanied by black-and-white
photographs and statistics, a unique chronicle follows all
of Disney's television programs and includes complete schedules
of all broadcasts, seasonal highlights, behind-the-scenes stories,
plot synopses, and much more. (...) A major part of my childhood
was watching Disney television shows - The Mickey Mouse Club,
Davy Crockett, Zorro and more. Years later this led to my working
for Disney, and now, a book that describes every episode of
every Disney series [such as the Golden Girls]. It begins
back in 1944 when Walt was first thinking about getting into
television, and includes today's hits like Home Improvement and Ellen.
The 10+ years of research included total access to The Disney
Archives and watching more than 4,000 hours of television.
It was a true labor of love, and a great chance to relive my
childhood. Now, with The Wonderful World of Disney back
on Sunday night, the tradition started by Walt continues."

Gold, Andrew: All This And Heaven Too "This was my personal favorite
of all my albums, as a whole, and contained another US hit
(Thank You For Being A Friend), as well as 3 UK hits,
including my biggest in the UK, Never Let Her Slip Away.
Brock and I had great fun that year. Thank You For Being
A Friend was later used as THE GOLDEN GIRLS Theme.
Some of the Eagles came down during the recording of Never
Let Her Slip Away, and you may notice they ripped the beginning
of my song for Heartache Tonight the next year. Lucky
we're friends..grrrr"
